Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 October 2026
The short version: You need to be 13 or older. You own what you post, and you let us host and show it on PolyTickles. Follow the Community Guidelines. If you break the rules we can remove content or suspend your account. We’ll tell you why, and you can appeal. You can delete your account any time in Settings.
Who we are
PolyTickles is a short-form video app for the Polytoria community, run by the PolyTickles team (“we”, “us”). By using PolyTickles you agree to these terms, our Community Guidelines and our Copyright Policy. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how we handle your data. If you don’t agree, please don’t use PolyTickles.
Polytoria and related names belong to their owners.
Who can use PolyTickles
- You must be 13 or older. If your country sets a higher age, you need to meet it or have a parent’s permission.
- If you’re under 18, read these terms with a parent or guardian. They need to be OK with you using PolyTickles.
- If we find out an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it (see Children and teens).
- You can’t use PolyTickles if we’ve permanently banned you.
Your account
- Use a real email address you can access.
- Keep your password secret. You’re responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else got in, change your password in Settings. That signs out your other devices.
- Don’t pretend to be someone else, including Polytoria staff, creators or our moderators. We can change usernames that are misleading or abusive.
- One account per person. No extra accounts to dodge a ban or block.
- Don’t buy, sell or trade accounts or usernames.
Your content
You own it
Your videos, captions, comments, display name and bio are yours. We don’t claim ownership.
What you let us do with it
You give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, process (for example, make thumbnails), show and share your content, only to run PolyTickles. Our service providers can do the same, only to help us run it. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we keep for safety or legal reasons for as long as our privacy policy says (see how long we keep data). We won’t sell your content or use it in ads.
Only post what you have the right to
You promise that you made your content or have permission to post it, including from anyone who appears in it, and that it doesn’t break the law or anyone’s rights.
It’s public
Anyone on PolyTickles can see your videos, captions, comments, username, display name, bio, followers and following. Don’t post your full name, address, school, phone number or location. We strip hidden data like GPS location from uploaded videos.
Uploads can be MP4, WebM or MOV, up to 50 MB and up to 10 minutes long.
The rules
Follow the Community Guidelines. In short, don’t use PolyTickles to:
- post anything illegal;
- post sexual content, or anything that sexualises minors (we report this to the authorities);
- bully, harass, threaten or groom anyone, or share someone’s private info;
- post hate, graphic violence, terrorist content, or content that promotes suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
- spam, scam, phish or fake engagement, including using extra accounts to follow or like your own (or a friend’s);
- copy other people’s work without permission;
- hack, overload or mess with PolyTickles or other accounts, or upload malware;
- scrape PolyTickles or use its content to train AI without our permission; or
- get around a ban, block or limit.
Moderation
Our moderators review reports and can also check content on their own. We also use automated filters (AutoMod). These include an AI check on text you post, like usernames, bios, captions and comments. AutoMod can hold or remove content and can apply a short automatic suspension (24 hours or 7 days) after repeated removals or warnings. Permanent bans are decided by a person, except the automatic ban after 3 copyright strikes in a year (see our repeat infringer policy).
What we can do
If something breaks these terms, the Guidelines or the law, we can remove it, warn you, suspend your account for a set time, or ban it permanently. We pick what fits how serious it was and your history. Serious things like child sexual abuse material, real threats or terrorist content get an instant permanent ban, and we report them to the authorities (for example, NCMEC in the US).
We tell you why
When we take action, you get a notice in the app. It says what we did, which rule was broken, how long it lasts, whether it was automatic, and how to appeal. The only exception is if telling you would put someone at risk or the law stops us.
Repeat rule-breaking
Accounts that keep breaking the rules get banned. That includes repeat copyright infringers (see our repeat infringer policy). If someone keeps filing reports that are clearly fake, we may ignore their reports for a while.
Reporting and appeals
- Reporting. Use the Report option on any video, comment or profile and pick a reason. For anything that doesn’t fit, pick “Something else” and explain. Reports are private. We review them carefully and fairly.
- Appeals. If we removed your content, warned you or restricted your account and you think we got it wrong, open the notice in the app (Settings → Notices) and tap Appeal. If your account is suspended, you can appeal from the screen you see when you try to log in. Appeal within 6 months. A person reviews every appeal, and not the moderator who made the original decision (unless no one else can). If we got it wrong, we undo it. Either way, you get a notice with the outcome.
- Other concerns. If you’re unhappy with how we handle reports or safety, use Report → “Something else” in the app.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Our stuff and copyright
The PolyTickles app, name, logo and design belong to us. If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them. If someone posted your work without permission, see our Copyright Policy.
Leaving or being removed
- You can delete your account any time in Settings. This removes your profile, videos, comments, likes, follows, blocks and sessions straight away. The only exception is when the law requires us to keep something (for example, after a report to the authorities): then we’ll tell you we can’t delete the account yet.
- We can suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or when the law requires it. You’ll get a notice and can appeal.
- If we ever shut PolyTickles down, we’ll try to give at least 30 days’ notice so you can download your data.
The legal bits
PolyTickles is free and provided “as is”. We work to keep it running and safe, but we can’t promise it will always work, be error-free, or that nothing will ever be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important. What users post is their responsibility, not ours.
Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, lost data or profits, or for what other users do. Our total liability to you is capped at 100 US dollars (or the same in your currency). None of this limits liability that the law doesn’t let us limit, like for fraud, or for death or injury caused by negligence.
If you cause us trouble
If you’re an adult using PolyTickles for business and your content or rule-breaking leads to claims against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs. This doesn’t apply to consumers where the law doesn’t allow it.
Disputes
Disputes are handled under the laws that apply where we operate. If you’re a consumer, you keep any rights your local law gives you, including going to your local courts. Please talk to us through the app first. Most things can be sorted out quickly.
Everything else
These terms and the pages they link to are the whole agreement between us. If part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce something right away, we can still do it later. You can’t transfer your account or these terms to anyone. We can transfer them to someone who takes over PolyTickles, as long as your rights stay the same.
Your rights as a consumer that can’t be limited by law are not affected by these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For big changes, we’ll tell you in the app at least 14 days before they apply, unless we need to move faster for legal or safety reasons. If you keep using PolyTickles after that, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account.
